The Study of Socio-ecology immerses learners into the complexities of society, culture, ecology, craft, design, and art practices through field visits, research-methods and documentation. The unit is planned around five frameworks: Habitat, Development and Ecology; Community, Practices and Imprints; History, Heritage and Change; Confluences, Conversations and Linkages; and Aesthetics, Expression and Manifestation. Each framework delves into different aspects of ecological and cultural practices, and aims to provide an understanding of the impact of human choices on the planet and the diverse ways in which communities have organized their lives.
