Daily Breads

This project aims to trace the origins and evolution of a food product in a fast-paced urban environment. The students will research the product's point of origin, how it is grown or produced, how it is transported and distributed, how it is consumed, and ultimately how it is disposed of. Through this research, the students will gain a macro-level understanding of the economy of scale in relation to the chosen product. This includes understanding the various factors that influence the production, distribution, and consumption of the product, such as technology, transportation, and consumer demand. The project will also give students an understanding of how food products move through the supply chain and how they are impacted by different economic and social factors. The end goal is that students will be able to create a narrative of the life cycle of the food product they have chosen, allowing them to better understand the bigger picture of the food industry.
