Comics Narratives in a Residential Colony in Hebbal: Housing People Working with Waste

Hasiru Dala is an NGO that helps waste pickers, specifically a group of migrant labourers from Maharashtra and North Karnataka, who live in a community in Hebbal, with their livelihood by providing low-cost housing. The houses are still under construction. The area also has a cluster of Devi temples that serve the community. Students will work on comics narratives, by visiting the space, drawing on location and interacting with the people. They will generate stories in the first week and revise them in the second week. The third week will be focused on drawing the comics. The organisation also aims to facilitate collaboration with young people in the community to create comics.
